Tracy Brumley has been training horses for the majority of his life. As a teenager, Tracy focused on Team Roping, Calf Roping and Steer Stopping events. After meeting successful cow horse trainer, Kenny Wold, Tracy's interest changed to the reined cow horse arena, performing in both AQHA and NRCHA events. With the rapid rise in popularity of Reining, Tracy was drawn to the sport. Reining brings a more refined, higher level of difficulty that a perfectionist like Tracy couldn't resist. Tracy spent much of the 1990s under the guidence of friend and mentor Randy Paul. After deciding to venture out on his own in the late 1990s, Tracy's successes just mounted.

He is a multiple NRHA Open and Intermediate Open Derby finalist, 2000 ARHA Classic Open Derby Reserve Champion and Intermediate Open Derby Champion, 2002 Reining by the Bay Open Derby Reserve Champion and Intermediate Open Derby Champion, 2007 Reining by the Bay 3 Year Old Snaffle Bit Champion, and a long time member of the NRHA Professionals. Tracy is not only a top trainer, but he specializes in coaching Non-Professionals to their highest goals. Non-Pro Derby Champions, NRHA Ancillary Division Champions Non-Pro and Youth, Rookie Champions, AQHA and APHA World Show Qualifiers and finalists. The list just goes on!
Back in the 1990s Tracy not only worked to develope his equine training abilities, but also began to craft his skills in another direction, welding and metal work. Over the past decade Tracy has developed skills as a welder and metal craftsman and today produces a high end line of hand made custom bits. These bits have been sold to a number of elite horseman in the equine performance industry including Andrea Fappani, Todd Sommers, Dell Hendricks, Bub Poplin, Corey Cushing, Mike Berg, Tanya Jenkins, and Matt Mills. Just to name a few.
In 2006 Tracy, in collaboration with friend and fellow reiner Andrea Fappani, created “The Fappani Line” of bit prototypes, the first in a series, that will fill the need they believe exists in the marketplace for quality bits that are affordable to the mainstream. “There are really only two lines of bits in the market today,” said Fappani. “There are the really nice handmade bits that are very expensive; and there are the inexpensive bits that aren’t very good quality. For some time, I have wanted to come out with well designed, good quality, affordable bits that would fit the needs of Reiners today, and still be affordable to everyone.” The mass-produced Fappani bit line will be available this fall, produced by Solum and Associates.
